In January, so many of us like to start anew, and get rid of the old. Old ways of dealing with our "issues"-- is always something to discard, if not needed or helping us anymore.
"Removal" though, isn't always that easy--like using those wide, sticky rolls of adhesive that remove unwanted debris.
I've learned that when I try to "peel away" the old and unwanted, there's a technique to be used. First, it cannot be rushed. There's no grabbing and yanking away…this has to be done gently and slowly to be less wasteful. A very small corner must be peeled back, grasped and pulled in only one, "right" direction--It's impossible to uncover freshness going "backwards"…
So it is, with any kind of peeling away the layers of emotional pain. It can't be rushed. It's not appropriate to do so unless truly needing it-otherwise, it's just a waste of your time and resources..
Eventually, there will be no more room on the roll. It's used up, it's had it's run in the sun and was useful for a time. Now, it's time to peel away the old and start with fresh, new help. Easy does it...God is always available for immediate assistance--God is all into fresh beginnings…2014 can be our best year yet!
